CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Town of Monterey, Massachusetts
MEETING DATE: 2/11/14
Present: David Dempsey, Christopher Blair and Betty Pixley
The meeting convened at 6:00p.m.
Lagumina – Main Rd (M234 L6) – SMANOI – SMA14-02 – Clear 4-5 acres for new single family home, detached 2 bay garage, animal shelter and grazing pasture. Install new septic and well. (C. Blair is the project manager)
The Commission reopened this hearing which was continued at last month’s meeting. The Commission had requested that more information be submitted with regards to the road (West St). Jared Smith was present. The project was approved as submitted. The one condition is that before the house is constructed final plans must be submitted for the Commission’s review which may require a new filing.
Murkett – 53 Harmon Rd – Request for Certificate of Compliance DEP file# 230-53
The Commission issued a complete certification.
Hume – 73 Chestnut Hill Rd – NOI & SMA NOI – SMA13-02– seven foot drawdown of Stedman Pond for dam repairs & improvements (B. Pixley is the project manager)
These hearings were reopened and continued to the March meeting.
For Discussion:
- Mail was reviewed.
- Minutes from 1/14/14 were approved as written.
- Rick Mielke came in to inquire about the Lake Garfield Association’s application/permission to remove barriers around docks. They received written permission from the state which requires letting the Conservation Commission know when and what they will be doing.
- The Commission received a request to remove a hemlock at 34 Bidwell Rd. The Commission approved the request and will let the caretaker know.
